About Marcus James MSc LicAc MBAcC
After studying Image Science at the University of Westminster, I undertook post-graduate training at the University of Wales College of Medicine in Cardiff before returning to the North and working in a large teaching hospital for 12 years, running diagnostic imaging clinics, with a speciality in ophthalmology.
Outside of the NHS I have always been drawn to healing. I have traveled extensively, working in Healing Circles and undertaking courses at the Findhorn Foundation and in India.
I returned to study for three and a half years at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading where I trained with some of the leading practitioners of acupuncture in the country, going on to gain my Licentiate and a degree in acupuncture and I am also a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC).
I practice an integrated form of the two Chinese Medical philosophies, Five Element and Traditional Chinese Medical (TCM) acupuncture. In 2009 I joined the team at the Brixton Therapy Centre, an amazing group of like-minded practitioners, dedicated to healing on every level. I also work with Nosh Detox to provide a fully personalized programme of nutrition and acupuncture to cleanse, detox and balance the body for optimum health.
When not working I enjoy spending time with my partner and our two rescue dogs, cycling and Tai Chi.
